The Treatment Process
The treatment process is typically completed in three parts: the consultation, the preparation phase, and the final placement.
During your consultation with Dr. Koyfman or Dr. Rewari, you will have the opportunity to discuss your cosmetic goals, concerns, and ask any questions you may have about your treatment. If your doctor believes that porcelain veneers are a suitable treatment solution, he or she will then conduct a comprehensive exam to ensure you are a candidate for the procedure. Good candidates for any cosmetic procedure will be those patients who enjoy good overall oral health and who are non-smokers.
Preparation & Design
To begin the porcelain veneers process, your doctor will need to prepare your teeth by carefully removing a minimal amount of enamel to ensure that the veneers fit seamlessly onto the tooth. A trusted dental lab will then create your veneers with artistic attention to detail.
To provide the technicians with an accurate template, your doctor will need to create impressions that will be used to design your veneers. To ensure a completely comfortable experience, we use CEREC technology to take these impressions of your teeth, which both speeds up the process and creates precise images for our lab technicians to use in crafting your veneers.
Our doctors are known for providing completely natural-looking results, which is partly why we were voted a Top Dentist by Orlando Magazine.
In more complex cases, the doctor may provide a wax-up to show patients what their results will look like and provide them with the opportunity to make changes. Once you and your doctor feel that the details of your veneers are correct, the lab will begin creating your porcelain veneers. In the meantime, you will be provided with a temporary restoration to wear until your permanent veneers are ready.
Placing the Finalized Veneers
Typically, the turnaround time from the lab is approximately 10 to 12 business days. You will then return to our office for placement. The veneers will be attached to the front of your teeth with dental cement. After your appointment, your veneers should function like normal teeth while beautifully transforming your smile.
How do LUMINEERS Differ from Traditional Veneers?
While LUMINEERS provide the same benefits as traditional porcelain veneers, the unique design does not require any alteration to the tooth structure, leaving enamel completely intact. These veneers are fabricated at official LUMINEERS-approved dental labs, typically requiring a longer turn-around time. In most cases, our dentists recommend traditional porcelain veneers because they provide many of the same benefits in a shorter amount of time.
